彼得Kwon 是纽约州立大学奥尔巴尼分校韩国学的助理教授. His research focuses on the history of the Korean defense industry, 军民关系, 东亚威权政治与公民社会之间的动态关系, 美韩关系, the political economy of East Asia, 和朝鲜民族主义. "A Birth" depicts the life of Kim Tae-gon (1821–1846, a.k.a. 安德鲁·金), 他是第一位在韩国出生的天主教神父，他的传教工作和殉道使他在1984年被封为圣人.
